The official start to the 2019 celebration of the North Wales 150th Anniversary is the Dinner Ball on February 16, 2019 at the historic William Penn Inn. The evening will include dinner, a cash bar, and music provided by a dance band.
The Vendor Bingo fundraiser on March 17, 2019 will be at the Tylersport Fire Hall. Doors open at 12 PM and bingo begins at 1 PM. There is a $5.00 cover charge, $1 for one bingo card and $2 for three bingo cards. There will be a 50/50 and food will be available for purchase. This is St. Patrick’s Day, so wear your green, get lucky, and win some green (dollars)!
Start your Saturday morning by coming to the Flapjack Breakfast fundraiser on April 27, 2019, 8-10 AM at the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 1281 Knapp Road in Montgomery Square. The delicious flapjack breakfast will include a plate with 3 pancakes and 2 sausage links, syrup, butter, and a beverage choice including coffee, orange juice, fountain soda or tea.
Join us at Weingartner Park on May 18, 2019, 5 PM, to celebrate North Wales with fun, food, music, and a Spectacular Fireworks Display! We will have games for the children,music by Solid Ground DJs and Where’s Pete band, a beer garden, and a variety of food trucks – or bring your own picnic dinner if you wish. Settle down in a chair or blanket and enjoy a fun evening with your neighbors – especially the fireworks later in the evening at 9PM
Gather your treasures and anything else which has been relegated to the cellar or attic and give them a second chance to be enjoyed and treasured by someone else. This is your chance to participate in the 2nd Chance Yard Sale on June 1, 2019, 8 AM – 1 PM at North Wales Elementary School parking lot. Cost is $20 for a 10’ space and you provide your own table. August 20, 2019 is the official anniversary of the incorporation of North Wales Borough. At 6:30 PM we invite everyone to celebrate this historic milestone – ring bells, blow whistles and join the fire whistle, church bells, and police sirens.
And the evening celebration continues at 6:45 PM with a concert in Weingartner Park featuring the famous Montgomery County Jazz Band. Bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy the music and sunset – a perfect way to end this special historic day.
The grand finale of our Celebrate North Wales events is the 150th Anniversary Parade on September 14, 2019. The Parade will begin at 1 PM and march down Main Street. Featured participants include the world famous Philadelphia Mummers Ferko String Band, Reilly Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps from Willow Grove, PA, and the Mackay Pipe Band, a traditional Scottish marching band from Bethlehem, PA. The parade will also include ponies and horses, in costume, from the Buxmont Riding Club, decorated floats, military reenactors from World War I and World War II, representatives from local clubs, youth and other organizations, veterans, and prominent dignitaries.
